Study tips for teenagers

It has been over 12 week now since many of our young people were sent home to be homeschooled during this pandemic. For some it has been a welcome break away from the rigid structure of school and for others it has been a struggle. It is important to try and instil good study skills into our teenagers regardless of whether they are spending their school days at home or in the educational environment. Here are some things you can do to help with study structure.

  • Timings – Setting out a study plan is a must and this can be based around the same lessons that they would take part in each day or based on revision materials that need to be covered. Make sure that they also factor in breaks.
  • Location – Having a desk space where they can study is important as it allows them to focus their mind on the work they have to complete. It also gives them a space that is their own to be able to have their files and any other items that help them study close to hand. A Next Day delivery desks company can help you out with this.

  • Rewards – it can be useful for teenagers to give themselves little rewards for work completed. This could be that they allow themselves 10 minutes of gaming in the evening for every hour of study work that they complete during the day.
