What’s so GREAT about a MAN CAVE?
Ever wondered what all the men get up to when they’re “working” in their “Man Caves”? Let’s first explore what a “Man Cave” is, described as; a sanctuary, a retreat, a quiet, calm place where a man can relax, drink a cold beer, read a newspaper and generally put the World to rights! This personal space can be a garage, a shed, a spare bedroom, a basement, anywhere he can get away from everybody and everything. He has total dominance over this “Cave” and decides how it is constructed and what goes in it. More often than not a garage is the perfect escape “Cave”, the man can put up some Longspan Shelving, have all his handy tools stored neatly in plastic boxes, a comfortable chair to sit and relax in and a mini fridge in which to keep his nice cold beers.
A male orientated domain to be shared only with his best friends, where they can play pool, sink a few beers, work on cars, bicycles and tinker till the sun goes down. The “Man Cave” has been psychiatrically deemed to be an essential area, somewhere the down trodden, man of the house can retreat to and call his own. A reminder of his bachelor days, before he was “tied” down with a wife and children, a happy place that he can totally relax and be himself.
A living memory and reminder of his life of “freedom” the “Man Cave” gives the married man his sense of identity back and allows him to express his true masculinity.
