Sports can be played as an individual, duo or in a team

There are many different ways to enjoy and participate in sporting activities, including Individual, Doubles and Team based sports.  Individual sports can include things like, tennis, cycling, bowling, badminton, boxing, snowboarding, skiing and figure skating. Every type of activity takes a different level of skill, fitness and training.  With an individual activity the participant has to be extremely dedicated and focused as they only have themselves to rely on.  There are no team mates to encourage them to train or to help them to focus, they have to be disciplined and be prepared to persevere and have great endurance.  It can be a lonely experience but when they win the competition that they are participating in, then they can take the full credit.  One very famous individual figure skating champion was John Curry who was the Olympic and World Champion in 1976.  His style of skating was a superb mixture of ballet and modern dance set to powerful music and he influenced many other skaters.
